WIC Phase 3 POP issue

Customers in Warwick Innovation Centre (phase 3) have reported packet loss today.

After investigation we have decided to replace our access switch.

An engineer is en-route and there will be a brief interruption to service while the connections are migrated over.

We apologise for any interruption caused.

Upcoming Maintenance – Binley Innovation Centre

11/3/2012 – 12:00 -> 15:00

During the above slot we will be carrying out maintenance at our Binley Innovation Centre POP to deploy a new core router.

Service interuption will be kept to a minimum but some breaks in service are unavoidable.

We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Upcoming Maintenance – Netplan

During the above timeslot we will be replacing our core switching/routing infrastructure at Netplan. The switchover should be relatively seamless, however some brief service interruption is unavoidable.

Slow network issues this evening

Around 19.50 this evening (5/3/2012) one of our customers suffered a large DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack, this caused some congestion on certain parts of our network, causing a slowdown for some customers.

We have now identified the offending traffic and are in the process of addressing the problem.

We would like to apologise for any issues caused.

Update 21:58. We successfully blackholed the offending traffic, and now full network stability has been restored, though as a precautionary measure we are holding some external connections down while we confirm that the attack has ceased.

WIC: Upcoming maintenance

29th February 2012 – 19:00 to 20:00

During the above the above slot we will be migrating Warwick Innovation Centre to a new routing platform. The preparation work is complete we simply need to migrate the access switch connections to the new router.

We anticipate there being a small number of outages for less than a minute each.

WIC: Minor Issues this PM

We have experienced a brief outage outage at our Warwick Innovation Centre POP this afternoon at around 16:20. This was due to a minor configuration change (that was meant to be non impacting) on our side causing the link to the site to be briefly interupted.

Coventry City Centre Router Maintenance

26th February 2012 – 10:00 to 12:00

During the above slot we will be carrying out maintenance on our Coventry City centre router, we will route traffic around the affected router and there should be minimal impact to any customer services.

Virgin Issues

We are currently experiencing some issues with certain customers on tail circuits delivered via Virgin.

From our own technical assessment it looks the problem is widespread across Virgins network as we have circuits affected at multiple nodes.

We will update as soon as we have anymore information.

Core network maintenance

This evening (30th December 2011) we will be performing some maintenance on the Warwicknet core network from 8PM until 11PM.  We don’t anticipate this work to be disruptive to customers.
