In addition to the current Linx issues we are now receiving reports that Telehouse North is suffering a power failure.

Warwicknet is not located in North, but certain upstream providers and peers may be impacted, again affecting routes.

We will keep you posted as soon as we have any further updates.

Update: Power was restored at 14:47.

London Internet Exchange Issues

We have had notification through from LINX (London Internet Exchange) that there are issues on one of the Linx networks.

LINX is where we exchange traffic for other providers (approximately 60% of our traffic).

This is having knock on effects for all Warwicknet customers. You may experience intermittent or slow service to certain websites.

We apologise for any interuption caused.

We will post an update at 15:15.

Regards… Ben

At risk: Coventry Ring

23:45 – 10/5/2010 -> 06:00 – 11/6/2010

We have received notification from one of our providers one segment of our Coventry ring is ‘at risk’ during the above period. The reason given is ‘3rd Party Plant Diversion’.

Traffic will automatically reroute across the network, so aren’t expecting any outages. However the ring will be degraded so the network will be ‘at risk’.

Planned Maintenance: Router Upgrades

Wednesday 14th April 2010, 23:00 to 03:00

During the above timeslot we will upgrading the software on our London and Coventry core routers, this will be done one router at a time in rotation across the Coventry ring.

Connected customers and sites may notice intermittent blips in connectivity as the network reconverges around each router reboot.

We don’t anticipate any major problems.

At around 9am today we detected flapping on the link from THE to UWSP, we have therefore temporarily disabled routing over the link while we investigate further. Traffic is flowing normally, however the Coventry ring is ‘At Risk’.

Planned Maintenance: Coventry

Wednesday, 27th January 2010, 21:00 to 00:00

During the above slot we will be carrying out a number of minor maintenance tasks at our Coventry POPs, these tasks include:

  • Migration of one of our University of Warwick Science Park core routers to a separate UPS and power feed, increasing resilience to that site and customers connected there.
  • Migration of our link from University of Warwick Science Park to Netplan connection to be terminated in new switches at each end.

We expect disruption to be minimal for Coventry connectivity and point to point services.

National Network Issues

We are currently experiencing an outage on all of our Virgin national ethernet circuits. This is affecting customers in Blyth Valley Park and leased line customers terminated on Virgin ethernet tails.

We have escalated the issue to Virgin.
